Smart Tab Manager is operated by CodonAi. This policy describes what the Chrome extension does with your data.

What this extension does

Smart Tab Manager is a Chrome extension that organizes the tabs in your browser into intent-based categories (Work, Shopping, Research, etc.) and dynamic workspaces grouped by shared title keywords. Optionally, you can save snapshots of your current tab set as named sessions and restore them later.

What data we collect

The extension processes the following information about your open tabs:

• Tab title, URL, favicon URL, window ID, and tab ID — read directly from the browser via the tabs permission.
• Native Chrome tab-group titles, if present (via tabGroups).

If you sign in with Google to enable cross-device session sync, we additionally store:

• Your Google account's sub (a stable opaque identifier) and email address — used to identify you on subsequent requests.
• Sessions you explicitly save via the "Save As" button — name, snapshot of tab titles/URLs at save time, and the inferred groupings. Stored on our servers and tied to your account.

What we do NOT collect

• Browsing history other than the tabs you actively have open.
• Form data, passwords, page contents, or anything inside the pages you visit.
• Cookies, localStorage, or session data from sites you visit.
• Telemetry, analytics, or behavioral tracking.

Where data is stored

Local-only data (intent groupings shown in the popup, the keyword-cluster cache, named sessions when no Google account is connected) lives in chrome.storage.local on your device and never leaves your browser.

When signed in with Google, your saved sessions are stored on our backend servers, hosted on Railway. Each user's data is isolated by their account; we do not share or sell it.

Data retention

Saved sessions persist until you delete them (via the "Delete Session" action in the popup) or close your account. Email a deletion request to the contact below to remove all data associated with your account.

Third-party services

• Google Sign-In — used only to verify your identity. We exchange Google's access token for your sub and email; we do not request any additional Google API scopes.
• Railway (hosting) — our backend is hosted on Railway, which has access to the data stored on it for the purposes of operating their infrastructure. See Railway's privacy policy.

Your rights

You can:

• View, save, and delete sessions at any time from the extension popup.
• Disconnect your Google account from the extension settings — this stops backend sync but does not delete server-side data.
• Request full deletion of your server-side data by emailing the contact below.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use of the extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
